Creative Producer & Writer / Composer & Music Director

Mohammed ‘Ayo Busari’ (he/him) is a Nigerian-born, award-winning Creative Producer, Curator, Disability Support Worker, Writer, and Performer. Now based in Boorloo, he holds a BA in Journalism & Media from the University of Hertfordshire and an MArts in Screen Arts from Curtin University. Co-founding The Outsiders theatre group in 2021, Ayo has co-produced, written, and performed at numerous shows, including ’An Evening of African Poetry & Storytelling’ at The Blue Room Theatre (Nominated for Outstanding Overall Design at The Blue Room 2024 Awards). He also performs poetry and live music at festivals, including FRINGE WORLD 2025, Perth Festival 2025, St Kilda Festival 2024 and SXSW Sydney 2024. Ayo serves on the boards of WAYTCo and Regional Arts WA.

Performer

Lilian Tran is a Western Australian actor and Curtin University graduate with a Bachelor of Theatre Arts. She has performed in a range of theatre productions, including a featured storytelling role in the 2021 Perth Festival’s BESIDE, Ella Waterman’s Green at the Hayman Theatre (2023), Michael Lew’s Teenage Dick, directed by Dan Graham (2022), and I Met Christine James-Scott in a Shopping Centre Carpark by Sally Davies, directed by Clare Watson at The Blue Room Theatre (2021). Lilian has also worked and trained with WAYTCo, participating in the 2024 Summer Stage development of The Comprehensive A–Z of Missing Persons Australia and their 2021 Senior Ensemble. She completed her first devised theatre project, New Beginnings, in 2025 with Blue Joy Theatre Company. Lilian currently performs with Constable Care and creates forum theatre with youth across Western Australia.

Performer

Shelby Rae Foster is an actor, performance maker and writer from Boorloo with diverse training from WAAPA, graduating from the Bachelor of Performing Arts in 2025, and Murdoch University in 2020, with a BA in Theatre & Drama and a second major in Screen Production. They are interested in creating new, queer and experimental work that doesn’t play it safe. With a passion for both devised and scripted work, notable credits include The Chair of Saint Peter (and Other Games) (The Blue Room Theatre, Summer Nights), Katzenmusik (WAAPA), and Perfect Animals (The Blue Room Theatre, Summer Nights).

Performer

Stella is a performing artist and writer interested in telling stories and creating art that speaks to people. Drawing on their own experiences as a queer and disabled person, alongside a passion for actively listening to people in diverse communities, drives their desire to provide and support authentic voices. Stella has had numerous opportunities in acting, playwriting, teaching and assistant directing within the Boorloo theatre scene, particularly working across site-specific, found-space, physical and experimental theatre. Stella has worked with WA Youth Theatre Company since 2019. Most notably, they performed and co-wrote for the 2020 FRINGE WORLD show Body Rights: Boxed In, performed in the 2021 Perth Festival work BESIDE and the 2023 Perth Festival work Seven Sisters, and performed in the collaborative work Ngalaka Daa with WAYTCo and Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company in 2021. Stella made their debut as an Assistant Director for WAYTCo’s 2024 production of The Comprehensive A–Z of Missing Persons Australia.

Director

Zoe Garciano is an award-winning Filipino theatre artist based in Boorloo with a passion for performance and directing. Zoe has trained with several institutions, including WAYTCo under the direction of Amelia Burke, and Curtin University through the Bachelor of Creative Arts in Theatre Arts. Currently, Zoe is proudly an Associate Artist with Blue Joy Theatre Company, working across multiple developmental projects. Notably, Zoe won PAWA’s Outstanding Newcomer Award in 2024 for their performance in Democracy Repair Services, directed by Andrew Sutherland (The Blue Room Theatre, 2023). Other noteworthy works Zoe has been involved in include IMELDA, directed by Donita Cruz (The Blue Room Theatre, 2024), which received several PAWA nominations; Grace Chow’s The Comprehensive A–Z of Missing Persons Australia(WAYTCo, 2024); and Bronte Frances’ How to Break a Chair (The Blue Room Theatre, 2025), which was nominated for Outstanding Contemporary or Experimental Performance at the PAWAs.

Set & Costume Designer

Nikita Bernardo is an emerging set and costume designer based in Perth. Since graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2021, Nikita has worked on many projects around Perth, including independent theatre works, dance and high schools. She recently designed the set for the Fringe award-winning show Hyperfantasia with Enneagon Movement at The Blue Room Theatre (2025) and worked as Design Assistant for Leon Hendroff on Level Up! (2026) with Monkey Brain Theatre and Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, where she expanded her skills into puppetry. Nikita is also currently in her third year at Curtin University studying Interior Architecture.

Lighting Designer

Katrina Johnston has been involved in theatre since she was a child, transitioning to lighting design in 2010. Katrina has worked with a wide range of Perth companies, including Blue Joy Theatre Company, Tempest Theatre and JackRabbit Productions. Most recently, she has designed for New Beginnings, presented by Blue Joy Theatre Company and FRINGE WORLD (2026); Playworn, presented by Lizzy McDonald and Liz Walker and FRINGE WORLD (2026); and Sunday Reset, presented by Medina Dizdarevic and The Blue Room Theatre (2025).

Sound Designer

Tao Issaro is an Indian/Australian multi-instrumentalist, composer, sound designer and performance maker based in Boorloo, WA. As a composer and sound designer in Australia, Tao has worked with Encounter Theatre, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, Tura New Music and Ochre Contemporary Dance Company, to name a few. In 2024, Tao was nominated for two PAWA Awards for Outstanding Composition and Sound Design for his work on Encounter Theatre’s Beneath The Music. As a performer, he is currently working with Sensorium Theatre, providing bespoke sensory theatrical experiences for neurodiverse children in schools across Perth. Tao also works as Captain Starlight at Perth Children’s Hospital, providing a playful and creative environment that supports sick kids in coping with the uncertainty and worry of hospitals and treatments. In 2025, Tao won the FRINGE WORLD Weekly Award for Music and Musicals with Boorloo-based pop outfit TAB Family, as well as winning WAM’s Song of the Year in the Global category with his group Tchega. Tao’s music is available on all streaming platforms online.

Stage Manager

Having studied the Diploma of Acting at WAAPA in 2023, Ethan Battle is an experienced performer on both stage and screen. He began stage managing with The Diary of Anne Frank, which toured Perth, Melbourne and Sydney across 18 months. Ethan also worked as stage manager and lighting designer for Noah Skape’s Human Entertainment for Perth and Melbourne Fringe '26, winning the coveted Martin Sims Award in Perth. He continues to grow his skills both on and off stage, and is very fortunate to be working on this production.
